Choral Workshops with Craig Courtney

An unforgettable choral experience at minimal cost,
through the support of the John Ness Beck Foundation.

Mission

Bring memorable high-level choral experiences to choirs, conductors, and congregations/audiences at accessible costs. Strengthen choral singing and choral conducting in choirs of all ages and locations through rehearsals and performance with internationally-known composer and conductor, Craig Courtney.

What to Expect

Choral Workshops with Craig Courtney are 1-3 day events in which Mr. Courtney teaches and coaches all aspects of choral performance from tone and technique to phrasing and interpretation. Choirs of any type are welcome, including church, community, university, high school, etc; choirs may also join together to create a larger festival choir. Each workshop is individually tailored to the needs and opportunities of the participating ensemble(s). The workshop can culminate in a concert or public performance if desired (but not required). Repertoire will be discussed by host and Mr. Courtney, and can be all-Courtney, or can be a mix of Mr. Courtney’s works with other Beckenhorst publications already in the host choir’s library, and/or newer Beckenhorst publications.

Cost

These workshops are uniquely supported and underwritten by The John Ness Beck Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and furthering John Ness Beck’s vision of quality church choral music. A fee of $1000 is required in advance from the host, and choirs are responsible for providing/purchasing their own music; the Foundation will pay all other expenses including travel, room, board, and the remainder of the stipend.
